UNS – Alumni Family of Agriculture Faculty of Universitas Sebelas Maret (KAFP UNS) embarked on a greening program to develop the agritourism in Karanganyar. The alumni organization, known as Ikatani, distributed 2000 Flamboyan seedlings received from FP UNS alumni batch 1978. Symbolically, the distribution of the Flamboyan seedlings was held in Karangpandan bus station, Saturday (4/2/2017).
The Dean of FP UNS, Bambang Pujiasmanto, stated that a greening program represents the commitment to support the development of agriculture in Karanganyar. The greening program, initiated by Ikatani, was warmly welcome by the Vice Regent of Karanganyar, Rohadi Widodo.
“Thanks to Ikatani for the provision of Flamboyan for the tourism facility, so that it becomes more colorful,” Rohadi said in his welcome speech.
The greening program was symbolically commenced with seedling planting by Bambang Pujiasmano, Rohadi Widodo, and Mugiharjo, the Head of Ikatani UNS.
“Thank you to all quarters for the participation, which made this event run smoothly. InsyaAllah in the next April we will conduct a planting program and distribution of papaya seedlings in commemoration of UNS anniversary. Also, thank you to batch 78 for contributing the seedlings,” Mugiharjo said.
“This time there are 2000 Flamboyan and cikita papaya seedlings that will be administered to Karanganyar goverment and distributed to some tourism places such as Sukuh temple, Cetho temple, front yard of Karanganyar Government office, and Karangpandan bus station,” Sri Kursini, the general secretary of Ikatani, said in her closing remarks.
