UNS – Following the decree from Surakarta Major on Surakarta status as Extraordinary Event (KLB) Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) and Circular from the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Number 19 of 2020, Circular from the Minister of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) Number 36603/A.A5IC-T/2020, Circular of Human Resource Bureau of Kemendikbud Number 36604/A3/KP12O2O, and Circular of Rector Number 1480/UN27/HW/2020, UNS set further actions to adjust the services for all academic members in UNS to anticipate and prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection.

In the circular dated Monday (16/3/2020), Prof. Jamal instructed that services in the UNS campus can be carried out properly even though Solo is in KLB status due to Covid-19.

Besides instructed that UNS student participates in online classes, Prof. Jamal also issued Circular Number 10/UNS27/SE/2020 concerning the Adjustment of Services to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) to Dean, Director, Head of Institution, Head of Units, and Head of Divisions in UNS.

This instruction requested that UNS keep provided services. On the second point, Prof. Jamal requested the head of units to re-schedule the picket to provide the best services. The head of units is also instructed to appoint a staff that can perform Work from Home selectively and fairly with several considerations.

“The considerations are the urgency of the jobs they have to perform, their residence and means of transportation used by the employee, the health condition of the employee, in this matter, pregnant women are prioritized, electronic correspondence system (SIKD) and electronic documentation (scan) must remain so the process of services do not stop,” Prof. Jamal stated.

To facilitate the work from home policy, staff who work from home are asked to provide a periodic report every 2 hours to their leader. The proof of attendance, the management at faculty/institute/units/divisions level are requested to make a report on the result of work from each staff who work from home to the human resource superintendent in each unit.

In terms of coordination between the leader and staff, Prof. Jamal instructed in the circular that the head of faculty/institute/units/division to utilize media communication such as video call or instant messenger application.

“All coordination between the leader and staff can be carried out through the existing information technology such as call, WA, teleconference, and others. This is to reduce the potential for crowds and face-to-face meetings. Staffs who perform work from home have to report their health routinely to their leader as a form of check and recheck on Covid-19 infection so that appropriate steps can be taken immediately,” stated Prof. Jamal.
