UNS — In a series of an official visit with DPR RI (Indonesia parliament) to Sukoharjo District, the Chief of National Population and Family Planning Board (Badan Kependudukan dan Keluarga Berencana Nasional – BKKBN), dr. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG. (K) especially paid a visit to observe the implementation of Family Planning (Keluarga Berencana – KB) program through Women Surgery Method (Metode Operatif Wanita – MOW) in Universitas Sebelas Maret Hospital (RS UNS), Monday (26/10/2020). In this visit, the Chief of BKKBN was welcomed directly by the Director of RS UNS, Prof. Dr. dr. Hartono, M.Si. and Deputy Director of Medical Services, Prof. Dr. dr. Sri Sulistiyowati, Sp.OG, (K).
In his visit, the Chief of BKKBN, dr. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG. (K) conveyed his gratitude for the collaboration with RS UNS in implementing the MOW for people in Sukoharjo. “As a form of our support, UNS Hospital can submit an application for the equipment needed to perform MOW,” dr. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG. (K) explained.
The Director of RS UNS, Prof. Hartono conveyed that MOW is a permanent contraceptive method which is known as tubectomy. RS UNS as a public hospital in partnership with the Office for Population Control, Family Planning, Women Empowerment and Children Protection (Dinas Pengendalian Penduduk, Keluarga Berencana, Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak – DPPKBP3A) work together to provide this service. “This is available for people in Sukoharjo since September 2020, especially for the financially disadvantaged community. DPPKB3A provides funding and RS UNS implement the MOW,” Prof. Hartono explained.
Prof. Hartono hopes that through the collaboration and assistance from BKKBN, the patient who is financially disadvantaged in Sukoharjo who need or fulfil the indication to receive MOW can be fully helped. “This program will also increase the number of MOW services in RS UNS,” Prof. Hartono concluded.
