UNS – The COVID-19 outbreak that occurs in Indonesia since the beginning of March had created an impact on the wide community. This also applies to the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta.
As a form of concern toward the family of FEB UNS due to the social and economic impact of the COVID-19 and considering that this outbreak will take place until such time that cannot be ascertained, the Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto, initiate a formation of a Task Force on Food Security.
The Task Force was formed to coordinate the donation from both internal and external parties. This Task Force also coordinates the distribution of the donation to FEB UNS faculty members affected by COVID-19.
The Head of the FEB UNS Task Force, Heru Agustanto, M.S.M., said that the main focus of this Task Force in to ensure the availability of food supplies for the FEB UNS faculty members.
“We will review its development, it depends on the condition, currently the donation is given gradually in the form of the food supply. However, this will be flexible and will be adjusted to main needs the need to be addressed together,” he explains.
Further, the Task Force is planning to prepare a report for once every two weeks and it will be reported to the donors.
Meanwhile, one of the Task Force members, Dr. Dwi Prasetyani, mentioned that the donation was collected from alumni, faculty partners, lecturers, FEB UNS academic support staff, and the public. Donation is received in any form.
Whilst the beneficiaries are the FEB UNS faculty members in need, such as cleaning staff, security staff, parking lot guards, support staff, and students in need.
“This program is implemented through observation, insight, and more focused understanding, hopefully, it can reach its target,” explains Dr. Dwi, who currently is the head of the FEB UNS Collaboration and Partnership Unit.
The first stage of distribution by the Task Force, in the form of food supply package, has been delivered to 21 FEB UNS non-civil servant support staff on Thursday, April 16th, 2020 in the Alumni Lounge room.
Prior to the formation of the Task Force, there are many parties who empathized with the impact of COVID-19 on the FEB UNS faculty members.
The female lecturers of FEB UNS who incorporated in ‘Sosialita FEB’ group provide 40 packages of food supply aids, and the Alumni of the class of 1997 provided 40 packages food supply for the cleaning staff, security staff, and parking lot guards. Moreover, the FEB UNS alumni from the class of 1988 provided Thermo Gun, whilst several lecturers provided masks.
The empathy and concern toward the FEB UNS faculty members are expected to give a spirit to uphold the mutual cooperation, cooperation, and harmony. Humas UNS
