UNS – A proud achievement was again achieved by students of the Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in The 7th Social Science in National Law Competition (SCIENCESATIONAL 2020) held by the Institute for Study and Science (LK2) Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Indonesia (UI).
The team from FH won second place. There are five students from Law Legal Studies Progam FH UNS: Arya Adi Bintoro class of 2018, Ri’dhollah Purwa Jati class of 2017, Iqtironia Khamlia class of 2018, Atika Ramadanty class of 2017, and Gergorius Fransisco class of 2019. They were representing UNS as a team in the Legislative Drafting Competition.
“Legislative drafting is drafting of the law. So, in legal drafting, there are two parts. We prepared an academic draft. The academic manuscript is similar to the Draft of the Law,” stated Ri’dhollah when met with uns.ac.id team, Monday (9/3/2020).
In the Legislative Drafting Competition, there were two types of competition; Legal revision and developing new Law. In this competition, the UNS team has chosen to make a cyber law. The cyber theme is chosen because it is considered new for Indonesians.
“Because by chance this is about cyber and it is considered new for Indonesians, so we made new (law). Preparing new draft and bill, even there is a bill but it has not been promulgated,” explained Ri’dhollah.
Arya as the team leader admitted that he is interested in the competition. Besides that, the competition also becomes his first competition.
“Honestly, this (competition) is the first time. In this competition, I am interested in the content,” Arya stated.
In the future, they plan to explore more about legal drafting. Besides that, (they) also join other competitions. It is also hoped that there will be a collaboration in making legislative drafting so that what they make can be implemented and have a positive impact on society. Humas UNS/Zalfaa
