UNS – Another glorious accomplishment is made the students of the Faculty of Sport (FKOR), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in the ‘Liga Mahasiswa (LIMA-Student League) Badminton Yuzu Isotonic Center Java and Special Region of Yogyakarta Conference Season 8, in Universitas Semarang (USM) on Saturday (7/3/2020) until Sunday (15/3/2020).
The UNS contingent sends out 5 female representatives in this Badminton championship. They are Anggepy Mulan Sari from Health Physical Education and Recreation Study Program (PJKR) 2018, Adefriet Ardiana M. S from Coaching and Sports Education Study Program (Penkepor) 2016, Fairuz Kusuma Alifah from PENKEPOR 2017, and Era Dzulzilati Malikul Mulki Wal Ikromi from PENKEPOR 2018.
Acting as their Coach is Dwi Joko dan Khalida and Aditya as assistant manager. The team had successfully snatched a victory under 2 categories, 2nd place in women’s team category and 3rd place in women single category. In the women team category, UNS is represented by Anggepy, Adefriet, Fairuz, Ayu, and Era. Meanwhile, for women single category Anggepy is the sole representative.
Anggepy admits that she and her teammate need 5 days to prepare their performance and their physicality in the Lima championship. They are interested to join this competition because it is one of the prestigious events that is held annually. Anggepy said that she felt burdened but she has to be optimistic in order to not disappoint all parties.
“It is quite burdensome, especially in the single category, where the game pattern requires the player to master the field every second, love it or not I have to be optimistic and I do not want to disappoint everyone. You can watch in Liga Mahasiswa YouTube, my struggle. Alhamdulillah, for the single category I won the 3rd place (Women’s Single) while in team category we won the 2nd place,” said Anggepy to uns.ac.id team on Tuesday (24/3/2020).
This prestigious regional event will continue at the national level. This year, the Lima championship will be held in Bandung. However, due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, the championship is postponed.
“It was supposed to be conducted on the 18th of March, I should continue to the National Lima championship in Bandung, but it is postponed due to COVID-19,” explained Anggepy.
Even though so, she remains thankful and optimistic to compete in the National Lima championship.
“I am thankful, at least I have done it will all my ability and the team and can still maintain to achieve the single category as well. I also thanked my parents who keep praying for me, supporting me for every second, minute, in fact, they are always there for me until now. I also thanked the coach of the UNS team who has to strive together to deliver the best,” said Anggepy. Humas UNS/Zalfaa
