The webinar is divided into two sections. The first section, which conducted on Friday, is presenting an expert in psychology Analisa Widyaningrum. Also present during the session is Sidiq Ramdhani (Chair of Metarmofosa XI), Abdurrahman Ghiyaats (Head of SKI FK UNS), dr. “This event shows that students take actively participating in public health, specifically mental health. It has already been said that mental health is important. Especially for the younger generation and this is something that is urgent to support human health, both physical and spiritual health,” explains Dr. Selfi.
Led by moderator Annisa Safitri Adhadiningrum, the first topic in “There are blessings in disguise” is presented by Analisa Widyaningrum, a psychologist from Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. She explains that the issue related to mental health is much discussed by the public, especially the millennials. The ongoing pandemic condition can be one of the factors that affect a person’s mental health. Adolescence which is usually the process of finding identity is hampered due to the current conditions. As a result, stress is rife among millennials.
Turning point becomes a period experienced by someone when there is a big transformation in determining the view of self. This transformation occurs in stages and the process varies. In this process, there is often a difference between reality and the ideal conditions. One of the effects of this period is the emergence of stress within a person. Further, sometimes it happens after an unwanted situation.
“How to push back after the difficult time,” become one of the messages delivered by Analisa while recounting the turning point in her life. When experiencing disappointment and failure does not mean everything is ended. But there is an opportunity that can make us more resilient and stronger in the future, of course, if addressed correctly.
As a conclusion of the discussion, there are four tips for dealing with life’s turning points correctly a la Analisa Widyaningrum. First, have the mindset to fight and do not easily give up with circumstances. Second, when you are in a depressed phase, a person will find three choices: accept, move on, or settle. Third, turn stress into friends, and the last find the purpose of life and make peace with the situation. HUMAS UNS
