UNS – The Prospective New Student (Camaba) with a special need, Yovan Rate Aziz, who participated in the Computer-Based Writing Exam (UTBK) in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta reveals his dream to be a teacher.
When met by uns.ac.id on Tuesday (7/7/2020) in the Technical Implementation Unit of ICT building UNS, Yovan reveals that he chooses Special Education Study Program this year SBMPTN. “UNS is my first choice for university and my second choice is Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), I want to be a teacher,” Yovan said.
The equipment used by Yovan during the UTBK is prepared by the UNS UTBK SBMPTN 2020 committee. The equipment consist of paper, Braille slate and stylus, and NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA). Yovan states to the media that he needs three months to prepare for the test, doing self-study, and utilizing online application to train on UTBK questions.
A room technician provides a short briefing for Yovan before starting the test, he is also assisted to fill in the participant’s name and number on the computer. When asked about the challenges, Yovan answers that it is difficult to understand graphics-related questions.
Yovan who was a blind judo athlete mentions that he is accompanied by his trainer at the National Paralympic Committee Indonesia (NPCI). On the occasion, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus does a direct review of the implementation of UTBK in the ICT Technical Implementation Unit Building. Prof. Ahmad Yunus meet Yovan directly inside the UTBK room to ensure that there is no obstacle in solving the UTBK problems. Humas UNS
