UNS Alumni Contribution to Digital World

UNS — The Alumni Association (IKA) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held another ‘wedangan’ (informal and friendly discussion) on the Contribution of UNS Alumni in Digital Platform. The webinar was held through Zoom Cloud Meeting and Youtube Live Stream (23/12/2020). The IKA UNS invites 6 (six) speakers namely Imansyah as the main speaker, followed by Miftachul Choiri, Shin Hyeon Soo, Albert Satrio Yudi, Clarissa Alvina Gunawan, and Ratih Rachmatika. This event is moderated by Dr. Irwan Trinugroho.

Also attending the event, the Chair of IKA UNS, Ir. Budi Harto, and the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho who also deliver an opening remark. “The current digital economy is moving fast. Therefore, in line with the digital economy policy, UNS has three centers for science and technology. The three are Center for Lithium Battery, Center for Javanology, and Center for Fintech and Banking, which is the first in Indonesia,” Prof. Jamal explains.

After the welcoming remark, the first speaker, Imansyah as the Deputy Commissioner of the Institute for the Indonesia Financial Service Authority (OJK) and Digital Finance, explains how to take advantage of the current condition. Especially with information technology, digital financial innovation, and fintech.

“The great moving control order (PSBB) in general has limited our movement affecting this sector. This condition was confirmed with the economic growth in Indonesia for the second and third quarters face quite a contraction, even though not as severe as the 97/98 crisis,” he explains.

The second speaker, Miftachul Choiri, explains the concept of a start-up business, mentioning that there are three crucial aspects. The first is a hustler or person in charge of business processes and ideas, the second is a hacker or the person in charge of building applications, and the third is a hipster or the person in charge of application design.

Following the second speaker, Clarissa Alvina Gunawan as the third speaker explains the available funding source for establishing a technology-based business. The following speaker is  Shin Hyeon Soo who delivers material on the KOAHLI application. The fifth speaker is  Albert Satrio Yudi who explains about Koinwork, a licensed online lending platform. The last presenter, Ratih Rachmatika, an alumnus from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNS, who establish a start-up called Clean Water Alert (SIAB). The start-up was started since she was in the fifth semester. Through SIAB, Ratih succeeded to win the UNS Outstanding Student Competition for Undergraduate Program in 2018. Humas UNS
