UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta continued to work on national and international cooperation. UNS successfully established cooperation with several universities in Japan namely Nihon University, Chiba University, and Kokushikan University in a recent visit to Japan (1-5/11/2017).
During a visit, UNS intended to propose Josaphat Tetuko Sri Sumantyo to be appointed as a adjunct professor. Josaphat Tetuko is a Japanese radar expert who has produced radar, satellites, and aircrafts. In addition, Josaphat also has 120 patents.
“Josaphat Tetuko is very famous and highly respected in Japan. It will be our loss if we do not propose him,” UNS Rector Ravik Karsidi explained, Tuesday (14/11/2017).
Furthermore, Ravik explained that Josaphat Tetuko is a radar engineer and an Indonesian drone aircraft that now has been working in Japan. Josaphat is the youngest professor at Chiba University. In addition to proposing Josaphat Tetuko, UNS and Chiba University also agreed to cooperate in such matters as establishing satellites at the UNS Faculty of Engineering and sending lecturers to study at Chiba University’s laboratory. humas-red.uns/Sav/Eln
