UNS – Flood and landslide disaster in several area in Bogor encourage the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta to provide an assistance for the victims affected by the disaster, Saturday (11/01/2020).

UNS Care program coordinated by the Vice Rector of Student and Alumni Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo visited the area affected by the disasters, accompanied by the UNS emergency response team consisted of SAR team, medical team from the Faculty of Medicine UNS, mapala UNS, and IKA (Alumni and Graduates Association) UNS.

The intended area for UNS Care program is the area most affected by landslide, namely Sipayung Village, Sukajaya, Bogor Municipality. The terrain traversed by the Team is quite challenging because the road was blocked by the landslide,” Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo said.

When contacted through phone, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo mentions that UNS Team brought a highly experienced Rescue Team, both nationally and internationally, that also involved in last year disaster management in Palu and Lombok. Until today, the medical team still providing free treatment in the residents’ house. During the flood disaster this time, UNS will focused on Rescue operation with 3 rescuers and Medical treatment with 3 doctors, 1 midwife, and 1 nurse; the team also provide medicine assistance from the UNS Medical Team.

The Team was departed from Solo on Friday, January 10, 2020, and arrived in Sipayung Village on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 17.00 WIB. Upon arriving, the team immediately performed 3 actions: first, mapping the area for flood victims’ assistance needs by rescuer team; second, medical treatment in UNS Post; and third, Mobile treatment to the refugee camps.

To https://uns.ac.id/, Prof. Kuncoro mentioned that, “medical treatment is provided in two method, Mobile treatment in Sukamulih village (a village next to Sipayung) is open until 19.45 WIB, while medical treatment in UNS Post is open until 20.30 with a long queue. People who know the arrival of UNS Medical team, immediately visited our post, and queuing for treatment.”

The Rescue team is in charge to open the access for rescue operation to isolated areas, and UNS Medical Team is the first team to reach Sipayung and Sukajaya Sub-District. The UNS Team will work in a structured manner, commanded by Rescuer Panji and doctor Sholicin.

The aid in the form of logistics, medicines, and other necessities are obtained through donors from the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. The aid is expected to help those who were affected by the landslide in Bogor Municipality. Humas UNS
