UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta student won another international level achievement. A student from the Fine Arts Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS won 1st and 2nd place in the World Population Day Competition and International Biodiversity Competition international competitions held by Lives For Literacy.
On World Population Day, Alif Sholihin of Batch 2016 submitted work on the invitation to manage the human population because the uncontrolled population growth will increase the possibility of a larger number of people get infected with Covid-19. He hoped that through his work, people would be more aware of the importance of managing the human population growth, especially amid the pandemic. His second victory was achieved for his work that invited people to preserve Sumatran Tigers, which he submitted to the International Biodiversity Competition
“(It) contains an invitation to preserve Sumatran Tigers that are threatened with extinction and Indonesia’s forest. Through this work, I hope that more people will be aware of the urgency of maintaining the biological diversity in Indonesia, especially Sumatran Tiger and Indonesia’s forest,” Alif explained to uns.ac.id on Thursday (23/9/2021).
Both competitions were held online through the @livesforliteracy Instagram and were participated by diverse participants from various countries. Alif also shared his delight for his last achievement as a university student after winning various competitions at national and international levels. “My other achievements in Jogja (Indonesia), Bandung (Indonesia), Johor Baru (Malaysia), Perak (Malaysia), Seoul (South Korea), Shanghai (China), Tamil Nadu (India), Georgia (USA), Virginia (USA), and lastly in Montreal (Canada) will become an unforgettable experience for me,” he said.
Alif also thanked his family, friends, and UNS Fine Arts Education Program, Bengawan FSAE UNS, KKN Sabah Malaysia, and Universitas Sebelas Maret for their supports. Through his achievement, he hoped that he could achieve other accomplishments as a UNS student because there are many competitions that he participated in that have not announce their results. He also hoped that other UNS students, especially FKIP, to keep learning and take action through competition, contribution, business, and other activities. Humas UNS
