Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed the MoU with International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT). IIIT itself is the non-profit institution in Virginia, USA, which concerns on culture and Islamic education. The MoU signing ceremony which located at Pusdiklat UNS was done by the Rector of UNS, Ravik Karsidi and the IIIT Coordinator in Indonesia, Habib Chirzin, along with the Director of IIIT for East and South East Asia, Dato’ Wira Jamil Isman and the IIIT President Boards of Trustee, Abdul Hamid Abu Sulayman, on Friday (7/10/2016). The MoU signing was also attended by several academicians of UNS, staffs of UNS International Office, and the representatives of IIIT.

The cooperation includes the book and journal publication, scholarship, students’ exchange, and so on. The MoU signing ceremony aims to achieve the purpose of cooperation in which there will be a forum to discuss the perspective of Islam towards education. “Themain discussion is about the issues of Islam in education, in which Islam is the science or the knowledge, there will be problems if those two are separated.
