UNS – The Nurul Huda Mosque in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta delivers free iftar packages on Saturday (25/4/2020) at 4 pre-determined posts namely Pesantren Mahasiswa Ar Royyan, Pesantren Mahasiswa Tanwirul Fikr, At-Tin Mosque, and Kost Tsaqofi.
This activity involves takmir (mosque administrator), UNS KKN Peduli COVID-19 students, and several students who stayed in their kost (studio apartment), which located in the surrounding area of the four posts. Each post has a quota for 75 free iftar packages. The free iftar sharing is conducted because there are many UNS students who choose to stay in their studio apartment and not returning home.
“Considering that there are numerous students who unable to return home and are stuck in the UNS area and because this program is mandated by the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, which directly assigned to Pak Warto. Therefore, the mosque takmir is helping to deliver the packages to the students or those in need,” said Thufeil Noor Muhammad one of the Takmir in the UNS Nurul Huda Mosque.
At first, the students who wish to get the free iftar package need to register themselves to the determined contact at each post. Afterward, those who had registered can acquire the iftar package from the nearest posts from their respective studio apartment. This program is open for all UNS students both male and female. Initially, this program is planned to last for 10 days, until Monday (4/5/2020). However, there is a possibility for the program to be extended after considering the ongoing situation.
“We will consider the further situation,” Thufeil explains.
There was a slight modification on the technical of previous distribution. The post in Masjid At-Tin and Pesantren Mahasiswa Tanwirul Fikr is removed. Therefore, the quota for the two posts is moved to another post with the following distribution Pesantren Mahasiswa Ar Royyan with 150 packages, Kost Tsaqofi with 80 packages, and UNS Nurul Huda Mosque with 190 packages. This free iftar sharing is expected to fulfill the needs of UNS students who remained in their studio apartment. Humas UNS/Zalfaa
