UNS Offline and Online Indonesia 75th Anniversary Ceremony

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an offline and online ceremony to commemorate 75th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Monday (17/8/2020). Different from previous years ceremony, this year ceremony was broadcasted through Zoom Cloud Meeting, Universitas Sebelas Maret YouTube channel, and Instagram @uns.official which is followed by UNS Academic Members from their respective place.

Wearing traditional outfits from all over Indonesia, UNS executive leaders and Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) UNS attended the event offline in G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS while implementing the health protocol. The proclamation text was read by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho. Pancasila text was read by Prof. Adi Sulistiyono and the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution was read by the Secretary of University Senate, Prof. Hasan Fauzi.

“Independence does not stop at freeing ourselves from the colonialism. Independence is the opportunity to dream and create without limitation” Prof. Jamal conveyed in his remark.

The new condition demands people to be focused on the important steps of uniting differences through collaboration. Gotong royong introduces the character of the nation which will accelerate the success of Indonesia Maju (Developed Indonesia). Prof. Jamal also mentioned the slogan of “Bangkit untuk Indonesia Maju” (Rise for Developed Indonesia) as a reminder to keep the spirit, particularly for all the leaders in achieving development for Indonesia.

As a university that has to shape excellent generation, all universities, including UNS provide their best support to realize three government priority program, Indonesia Sehat, Indonesia Bekerja, and Indonesia Tumbuh (Healthy Indonesia, Working Indonesia, Growing Indonesia). Before closing the event, the Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan led a prayer and conveyed the best wishes for Indonesia. HUMAS UNS
