UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta achieved another proud accomplishment by ranked 201-300 worldwide in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking. The ranking was released by THE on 21 April 2021.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, stated that THE Impact Ranking is a university ranking that focuses on assessing university contribution in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The indicators are from research, outreach, and stewardship aspects. In THE Impact Ranking 2021, UNS is ranked 28th globally on the fourth SDG category, the Quality of Education. UNS gets the highest score among Indonesian universities in this 4th SDG category.
“Alhamdulillah, UNS is included in 201-300 global ranking in THE Impact Ranking from 1,115 global universities assessed,” Prof. Jamal explained on Wednesday (21/4/2021).
Prof. Jamal added that UNS should be grateful for this achievement because this is the first time UNS was included in THE Impact Ranking and ranked 201-300 globally. This result shows that UNS has a high commitment and contribution in achieving the SDGs. Further, UNS 28th global ranking in the 4th SDG shows that UNS contribution in improving education quality received high appreciation at the international level.
“THE is a reputable ranking institution from the UK. QS and THE are two higher education acknowledged by the Ministry of Education and Culture, especially the Directorate General of Higher Education that uses QS and THE as the indicator of a world-class university.
