UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta welcomes a visit from the PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Indonesian Railways Company-KAI) Operational Region (DAOP) 6 Yogyakarta, at dr. Prakosa Rectory Building, Wednesday (3/2/2021) afternoon. This visit aims to deliver cash assistance worth IDR 30 million to UNS. This assistance will be delivered through UNS Peduli to help the affected community during many natural disasters at the beginning of 2021.
The Delegation of the PT. KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta is consist of Rumiarso (Assistant Manager for Safety) dan Tuti Asmorawati (Assistant Manager for Finance), was welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus in his work office. Prof. Yunus representing Prof. Jamal Wiwoho (the Rector of UNS) thanked PT. KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta for their assistance and concern through UNS Peduli. He hopes that the assistance can ease the burden of the disaster victims.
“Thanks for the concern and taking side with the community affected by disaster through UNS program,” states Prof. Ahmad Yunus. Further, he added that UNS Peduli has been collecting aid through fundraising starting in late January. The fund collected by UNS Peduli has been distributed to victims of natural disasters in a number of areas.
“Some are distributed to disaster locations in Sulawesi, Kalimantan, as well as Merapi. Thank you. Alhamdulillah, PT. KAI has the same concern with UNS,” Prof. Yunus continues.
On this occasion, Rumiarso representing PT. KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta delivers a message that the assistance given is an answer to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the PT. KAI. He states that PT. KAI has delivered various assistance, among others is the scholarship for Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama (UNU) Yogyakarta.
“Our CSR in social sectors is quite a lot, including assistance to Merapi eruption victims in Boyolali and Klaten, this assistance also extends to the education sector,” Rumiarso explains. Humas UNS
