UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won the 1st place in the National Speech Competition. Khusnul Khotimah, a fourth-semester student in Physics Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS, won the speech competition held in a series of Mirai Islamic Festival.
Khusnul won over other participants from various universities in Indonesia in the competition that was held by the Student Association for Mulsim Students of Universitas Pertamina through her speech on ‘Shaping Scholars with Noble Values.’
“In this video, I would like to invite all community members to be a scholar who use their brilliance to work, learn, imagine, initiate, and ask or solve problems, to be scholars with noble value because it is fundamental in Islam,” she stated on Friday (14/1/2021).
She added that noble values are crucial in daily life, considering the value of a person is determined from the nobleness of their views. Therefore, scholars with noble values are expected to bring Indonesia into an advanced future.
The competition was held online from 26 October and announced through the Mirai Islamic Festival Instagram account on 29 December 2021. Khusnul stated that she was delighted and moved when announced as 1st place.
“Hopefully in future, (I) could continue bringing usefulness for the people. Then could continue participating and winning other competitions and bring pride for UNS, family, and become a motivation for others,” she concluded. Humas UNS
