UNS — Students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta have carved another achievement in the National Essay Competition (NESCO) Counseling Guidance (BK) organized by Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED) 2020. The team consists of Novita Tri Hapsari, Lutfi Nur Khasanah, and Kus Puji Santoso Edo Widiantaka, from the Guidance and Counseling Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), has succeeded in winning 2nd place last Monday (9/11/2020). On this occasion, the team takes on research entitled ‘AMCRITIC Game (Among Us Critical Thinking Game): Educative Game as Group Counseling to Increase Critical Thinking for Z Generation in New Normal Era’.
“We choose Among Us as a media for group counseling service because the game is one of the current trends among the young generation and can be accessed easily through a smartphone. Therefore, we took the initiative to use this game as educational media. This certainly will attract the Z generation interest to join a group counseling,” explains Lutfi when contacted by uns.ac.id, Friday (20/11/2020).
Lutfi admits that their team needs 3 (three) weeks to develop their research.
The team must go through 2 (two) selection stages, the top 10 articles selection and grand final presentation to determine the 4 (four) champions; all stages are held through Zoom Cloud Meeting.
“Because the competition was held in the middle of the academic year and because we are late in knowing the announcement of the competition, we got limited time. Finally, we join the competition with assistance from our senior in BK FKIP UNS class of 2017, who previously won an essay competition, she is Kristiana Firdausi. We are thankful for winning second place,” Luthfi said.
The team is grateful for winning the NESCO BK UNIMED 2020 and contribute to the achievement of the BK FKIP UNS. Finally, they hope that their achievement can motivate their student fellow to competing in a championship as well as wishing that BK FKIP UNS can be an excellent study program.
“Alhamdulillah, finally, we can contribute to the study program achievement. Moreover, we hope this can be a motivation for BK FKIP UNS students, especially us, to participate in another competition,” Luthfi concludes. Humas UNS
