Virtual Pre-job Training is a routine event from CDC UNS to accelerate UNS alumni waiting period for their first job. Diana Tantri Cahyaningsih, S.H., M.Hum as the person in charge of the event, stated that CDC UNS could hold three up to four Virtual Job Training in one year. Despite the frequent schedule of the event, students and alumni never ceased to be interested in the event. In this event, 250 students registered for the Virtual Pre-Job Training.
This Virtual Pre-Job Training invited two speakers, Gilang I Nata Praja as Assistant Human Capital Director PT. Pertamina (Persero) and Citra Tectona S, S.Pd., M.Pd, Faculty Member of Guidance and Counseling Education Program UNS. Students were expected to prepare for their potential before entering the workplace through these speakers.
The Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, stated that the workplace is the real world for university students after being equipped with knowledge from the university. Therefore, this program is vital for students to provide a foundation for adjusting to that stage of life.
“Students should be equipped to enter the workplace. If in the university, before an examination, they must be ready. But in the workplace, students also need to be ready. They need to prepare what will be tested for them to be able to work in an institution,” Prof. Yunus stated.
Prof. Yunus added that the workplace demands more than knowledge. It requires other factors that will determine if someone will be accepted to rejected by an institution. “They will hire the person, not their 3.5 GPA. That’s not enough,” he added.
Through Pre-Job Training, ‘Improve Yourself and Let’s Gain the Success’, students are expected to prepare themselves to compete with other job seekers in the labor market. Humas UNS
