UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta welcomes 148 students to participate in Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Tanah Air Nusantara Sistem Alih Kredit Dengan Teknologi Informasi (Permata Sakti-Information Technology Student Exchange for Indonesia Student with Semester Credit Transfer) Program. The program was opened by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho through Zoom Cloud Meeting, Tuesday (22/9/2020). Prof. Jamal states that considering the global trends along with the industrial revolution 4.0, higher education also contributes to innovation through Kampus Merdeka-Merdeka Belajar Program. One of the objectives of the Permata Sakti Program is to establish a collaboration pattern among Indonesia Universities to strengthen global competitiveness in education.
“Hopefully, this event can establish a collaboration pattern among the Universities and encourage collaboration to improve quality and access between universities in Indonesia,” Prof. Jamal states.
The Permata Sakti program is divided into two methods, inter-universities and within the university. The inter-university channel includes two-section student exchange to the different university under the same study program and the different study program. Meanwhile, the intra-university program, the exchange is implemented across the study program.
The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, states that there are seven leading courses taken from the three centers of excellence (PUI) in UNS. The courses are Accounting for Logistics, Financial Technology, Javanese Culture, Artificial Intelligence, Plant Tissue Isolation Technology, Energy Storage Technology, and Production Technology of Spices and Medicines.
Currently, UNS receives 148 students joining the program from various universities in Indonesia. Three universities with the most number of students joining the program are Universitas Negeri Padang with a total of 24 students, Universitas Mulawarman with 22 students, and Universitas Lampung with 20 students. While UNS delegates 77 students to 27 universities in Indonesia, with most students delegated to Universitas Padjadjaran with 18 students, Universitas Udayana with 10 students, and Universitas Sriwijaya with 9 students.
Further, the registration to the Permata Sakti Program 2020, Afif Nurcahya, S.Si., from Academic Office UNS, states that new student registration can be accessed through siakad.uns.ac.id and, indeed, it is necessary to coordinate with the PIC of each faculty to obtain a Student PIN.
