UNS – To welcome the holy month of Ramadan, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta holds Ramadan Tausiah, Wednesday (29/4/2020) afternoon. This year Ramadan Tausiah is held differently from the previous year because this year it is held online.
Ramadan Tausiah aimed at all UNS Muslims academic members and staffs. The occasion was attended by the Rector of UNS Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, Vice-Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, Vice-Rector for General and Finance Affairs, Dr. Bandi, Vice-Rector for Planning and Partnership Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, Director of UNS Postgraduate Program, Prof. Sutarno, Deans and Vice-Deans in UNS, and Deputy of UNS Public Relation, Dr. Deddy Whinata.
In front of the university leaders who followed the Ramadan Tausiah, Prof. Jamal stated that UNS will routinely conduct online recitation once a week in the month of Ramadan.
“Alhamdulilah, due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, we changed everything especially in the sharing and deepening of our Islam. In this Covid-19 pandemic situation, I asked Islamic Education (PAI) to hold Islamic recitation,” Prof. Jamal opening his welcome speech.
Prof. Jamal added that UNS will also conduct tarling online every Monday and Thursday from 20.00-21.30 WIB (West Indonesia Time). With the online tarling, Prof. Jamal expected the participation of all UNS Muslims academic members and staffs.
“There is also online tarling which started from yesterday and take place every Monday and Thursday at 20.00-21.30 WIB. Yesterday, we participated together and on Thursday 30 April there will be Dr. KH. Abdul Wahid Maktub the former Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar and Special Staff of Menristekdikti. I hope that our Islamic recitation on Wednesday afternoon and online Tarawih on Monday and Thursday can be joined by UNS components. I express my gratitude for your participation this afternoon,” stated Prof. Jamal closing his welcome speech.
The preacher in the first week Ramadan Tausiah is Prof. Zainal Arifin Adnan. Prof. Zainal is former Chairman of Indonesia Ulama Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia – MUI) of Surakarta delivered a speech on ‘Islam is an easy religion’.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity as Ramadan preacher, hopefully, religious events can be improved and made effective so that from Benteng Pancasila Campus as ‘Kawah Candradimuka sebagai hamba yang Muttaqin’ (Candradimuka crater for Muttaqin Muslims),” stated Prof. Zainal.
On this occasion, he stated that as Muslim, ikhtiar (efforts) is a requirement as mentioned in QS. Al Baqarah: 112.
“If you want to survive in the hereafter use knowledge, if you want to survive the world using science, later the world hereafter will also use knowledge. If it’s easy your endeavors will get peace, victory, prosperity, and glory. No need to worry and be afraid anymore because everything is guaranteed by Allah. Insyallah, if praying right corona will be taken away by Allah. Corona comes on the task of Allah,” stated Prof. Zainal. Humas UNS/Yefta
