UNS – Industrial Engineering team from Engineering Faculty of Universitas Sebelas Maret (FT UNS) Surakarta acquired the best paper award at Kongres VIII Badan Kerjasama Penyelenggara Pendidikan Tinggi Teknik Industri (BKSTI) Seminar Nasional Teknik Industri (SNTI) and Seminar Nasional Terpadu Keilmuan Teknik Industri (SATELIT), Wedenesday (4/10/2017) – Friday (6/10/2017).

This team consisted of student Hansen Kusuma and Lecturers I Wayan Suletra, Yusuf Priyandari, and Wakhid Ahmad.

They wrote a paper entitled “Criterion Determination for Waste Management Installation (IPAL) Through Fuzzy AHP Approach along with Tofu and Tempe Industry In Mojosongo Village”.

This topic was chosen based on the water and air pollution due to industrial activities in Mojosongo.

Therefore Hansen and friends were interested to investigate using IPAL location. It can be used by government of Surakarta to decide the location of IPAL.

“The chosen criteria are expected to be deliberations for the government on the subject of IPAL construction in Mojosongo,” said Hansen.

Hansen successfully defeated 200 participants from entire Indonesia. Furthermore, Wahyudi Sutopo, Head of Industrial Engineering program was selected as the general chairman of BKSTI 2017-2020. humas-red.uns/Ref/Eln
