1,497 Prospective Students Passed the SNMPTN UNS 2021

UNS — In total 1,497 participants passed the National Selection of State University (SNMPTN) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta for the 2021 academic year. The announcement for this 2021 SNMPTN is conducted simultaneously in Indonesia on Monday (22/3/2021).

Rektor UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, and the Chair of UPT New Student Selection and Admission (SPMB) UNS, Prof. Hadiwiyono, in a virtual and offline press conference on Monday (22/3/2021) states that the total applicants in SNMPTN UNS 2021 are 23,108. This number is an increase of 1.8 % from the previous year. Additionally, there are 372 University KIP (KIP-Kuliah) holders or 24.85 % of total capacity in UNS. As for the composition, there are 16,196 participants in Science and Technology program, and 13,548 participants in social and law programs.

“In total 1,497 participants passed the SNMPTN UNS 2021, they are from 34 provinces in Indonesia, with 686 participants in Science and Technology (Saintek) category, and 811 participants in Social and Law (Soshum) category. The UNS passing grade this year increased from 1:18 in 2020 to 1:20 in 2021. This increase shows that UNS gets a positive reputation among the applicants,” Prof. Jamal explains.

The Pharmacy Study Program UNS succeeded in getting the second rank nationally in terms of a passing grade in the Science and Technology category. Meanwhile, Psychology is ranked 20th nationally in the same category. There are 10 Science and Technology study programs with the highest-passing grade in UNS namely Pharmacy Study Program Farmasi with 1:90 AKP (a passing grade), Psychology with 1:65 AKP, Informatics with 1:63 AKP, Medicine Education with 1:40 AKP, Informatics and Computer Engineering Education with 1:35 AKP, Food Technology with 1:30 AKP, Statistics with 1:30 AKP, Agribusiness with 1:29 AKP, Architecture with 1:26 AKP, and Civil Engineering with 1:24 AKP.

In the Social and Law category, the 10 study programs with the highest AKP are Communication Science with 1:43 AKP, Indonesian Language and Literature Education, and Local Literature with 1:31 AKP, Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) 1:25 AKP, State Administration Science with AKP 1:25, English Language and Literature with 1:24 AKP, Office Administration Education with 1:24 AKP, Accounting with 1:23 AKP, Demographics and Civil Registration with 1:23 AKP, and Guidance and Counseling Education with 1:22 AKP.

“All participants who passed the SNMPTN must register and fill in biodata, starts from 23 until 27 March 2021. Participants who do not register will be disqualified. However, all students who had not passed the SNMPTN 2021, can register for the Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK), Joint Selection for State Univesity Entrance Selection (SBMPTN), and UNS Independent Selection 2021, which consist of Achievement Selection, Collaboration Selection, Disability Selection, and Online UNS Written Exam, and UTBK-LTMPT score. All participants who had passed the SNMPTN 2021 are not allowed to register for UTBK and SBMPTN 2021. Students who apply for University KIP (KIP-Kuliah) but do not passed the SNMPTN 2021, and want to register for UTBK, will be charged with any fee,” Prof. Jamal added.

Nationally there are 854,599 participants in the 2021 SNMPTN with a total of 110,459 passed the selection. Among those figures, there are 29,904 University KIP Holder  siswa adalah pemegang (Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah, KIP-Kuliah). “In this 2021 SNMPTN, nationally UNS ranked eighth among the state university in terms of applicants.
