UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta recently hosted its 2025 Easter Celebration, organized by the UNS Christian Fellowship. The event took place on Tuesday (6/5/2025) at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNS. It carried the theme “The Peace of Christ Within the Family,” inspired by John 20:26.
Opening and Welcoming the Celebration
The celebration began with a warm greeting from the host, who welcomed all attendees with joyful Easter wishes. A solemn atmosphere followed during the opening prayer, setting the tone for the event. Worship and praise followed, led by the combined music team of the Christian Fellowship of UNS.
Reflections and Remarks from UNS Leadership
Next, the reading of Gospel focused on the significance of Christ’s resurrection and the peace it brings to His followers. The Easter reflection encouraged attendees to embrace this peace in their families and work environments.
The event continued with a praise offering from the Christian Student Fellowship (PMK) of UNS. Spiritual songs created an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie among the participants.
Dr. Sumardiyono, S.K.M., M.Kes., the head of the event committee, expressed his gratitude to the university leadership, committee, and all attendees in his report. He hoped the Easter celebration would strengthen the spirit of unity within the UNS community. “May the peace we celebrate today extend into our families and remain present in our daily lives as UNS campus members,” he said.
On this occasion, UNS Rector Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., also attended and delivered his remarks. He expressed his appreciation to the Christian Fellowship of UNS for organizing such a meaningful event. “I hope that events like this continue to foster brotherhood, enhance tolerance, and create a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere on campus,” Prof. Hartono said.
The event concluded with a prayer for UNS, the nation, families, and all campus members. As the celebration wrapped up, the Catholic Student Family (KMK) of UNS performed a praise song, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The celebration ended with a group photo of all participants, the committee, and university leadership. The Christian Fellowship of UNS will continue the 2025 Easter Celebration as a tradition.
