UNS – In order to establish a network between education institutions and industry, the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, which initiated by Teaching Factory (TeFa) of the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS, establish a partnership with PT. Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama (PT. BUMA) and PT. King Manufacture.
The Dean of FKIP, Dr. Mardiyana, in his opening the discussion on MoU preparation between UNS and PT. Buma, as well as the MoU between UNS and PT. King Manufacture in FKIP UNS, on Wednesday (30/01/2020), mentioned that the discussion was focused on the form of partnership between the institutions, which covers research, training, and education development.
The partnership in research will cover the research in spare parts, waste management, renewable energy, and various others. Meanwhile, the partnership in training will be implemented in accordance with the education and the skills needed. While, the partnership in education development will cover an internship program for the students, laboratory facility grants, and grants for consumable equipment.
On the other hand, the UNS Vice Rector of Planning and Partnership, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan added that the partnership can also cover other fields such as research on the lighting system for PT. BUMA mining area using Lithium batteries and the Internet of Things (IoT), Waste-Water Treatment, and others.
“The partnership between the institutions is flexible, this means in the future, it is possible that there will be another Memorandum of Action (MoA), which is a derivative from this MoU. The MoA will enable us to include various scientific disciplines within UNS. Therefore, a proper discussion between the institutions is needed in order to establish a great partnership,” Prof. Sajidan said to uns.ac.id.
Prof. Sajidan added that the commitment to the partnership is a strategic form in creating a harmonious relationship between education and the industrial world. “Therefore, the signing of this MoU is planned to take place in the following fortnight,” said Prof. Sajidan. Humas UNS/Dwi
