UNS – The Rector of the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., carries the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) and visitation to the Students’ Community Service Program (KKN) UNS in Lombok, Monday (10/2/2020).
The activity was conducted in Gumantar Village, Lombok Utara, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB). The Monev is carried out to evaluate the UPKKN unit and the students, in the context of improvement and refinement for the KKN program over the years. The UNS officials who were present were warmly welcomed by the Deputy Regent of Lombok Utara, Sarifudin, M.H and the Head of Local Villages.
The UNS officials who participated among others are the UNS Vice Rector of Academic Affairs (WR 1), Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus and officials from the Institute for Research and Community Engagement (LPPM) which include the Head of LPPM and the head of UPKKN. Also attending the event is the alumni of UNS who currently teach as a Lecturer in Universitas Mataram (UNRAM), Drs. M. Ilyas Salman.
One of the students of KKN in Lombok said that they are happy when Prof. Jamal visited. “We are extremely happy, this (visit) shows that there is special attention given to our KKN location after the 2018 disaster. UNS is really concerned with Nusa Tenggara Barat Province by sending KKN delegation to the island,” said Afnan Taqiyarrahman, Wednesday (18/2/2020).
The KKN UNS team in Lombok island is located in 5 village points. The points are Gumantar village, Bayan village, Selengen village, Malaka village and Tegalmaja village. During the Monev, Prof. Jamal advised the students to continue to disseminate information to the villagers in their KKN location. This activity aims to continuously deliver a creation that becomes a memory and is useful for them after the KKN UNS team is returned to Surakarta.
In addition, Prof. Jamal also leaves a message for the Head of the Gumantar village that, he will give assistance to the people who wish to study at UNS. Humas UNS/Zalfaa
