UNS – In total 1,720 participants passed the National Selection of State Universities (Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri-SNMPTN) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta for the year of 2020, on Wednesday (8/4/2020).
The UNS Rector, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho accompanied by the UNS Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus and Executive Secretary for New Student Admission Selection (Seleksi Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru-SPMB) UNS, Prof. Hadiwiyono, during an online press conference with the reporters, Wednesday (8/4/2020) stated that the total applicants for this year SNMPTN are 31,080. This number shows a 1.5% increase compared to last year’s figure. Among the total of 31,080 participants, a total of 16,884 is registered under the Science-Tech cluster and 14,196 participants were registered under the Social-Legal cluster. “Those who passed the selection to attend UNS through 2020 SNMPTN are 1,720 people or 25 percent from the total quota for the 2020 UNS new undergraduate students’ quota. Detailed as follows, 853 passed the selection under the Science-Tech cluster and 867 participants passed under the Social-Legal cluster. Moreover, the passing grade for UNS is increased from 1:16 in 2019 to 1:18 in 2020,” explains Prof. Jamal.
There are 10 study programs in UNS with the highest passing grade in Science-Tech cluster among others are Pharmacy Study Program with Stringency Competition Figures (Angka Keketatan Persaingan-AKP) 1:73, Psychology with an AKP of 1:43, Informatics with an AKP of 1:41, Food Technology with an AKP of 1:28, Medicine Education with an AKP of 1:28, Statistics with an AKP of 1:27, Industrial Engineering with an AKP of 1:24, Mathematics Education with an AKP of 1:23, Agribusiness with an AKP of 1:23, and Architectural Engineering with an AKP of 1:22.
Meanwhile, in the Social-Law cluster, the study program with the highest passing-grade are Management Study Program with an AKP of 1:48, Communication Science with an AKP of 1:43, State Administration Science with an AKP of 1:33, Accounting Study Program with an AKP of 1:31, Guidance and Counselling Education with an AKP of 1:25, Visual Communication Design with an AKP of 1:24, Elementary School Teacher Education with an AKP of 1:24, International Relations with an AKP of 1:21, English Language and Literature with an AKP of 1:20, and Sociology with an AKP of 1:19.
“All participants who passed the SNMPTN are required to do an online registration starting on 16-30 April 2020, any participants who failed to do so will be disqualified. Meanwhile, for those who have not passed the SNMPTN 2020, there will be another chance to register for the Computer-Based Written Exam (Ujian Tertulis Berbasis Komputer-UTBK) and the Joint Selection Entrance to State University (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri-SBMPTN) 2020. While the one who already passed the SNMPTN is not allowed to register for UTBK and SBMPTN. Students who register for KIP-Kuliah but do not pass the SNMPTN 2020 will not be charged for the registration fee if they are registering for UTBK,” Prof. Jamal added.
Nationally, the number of participants who passed the selection to 86 State Universities in Indonesia are 96,496. This figure shows the result of the selection process conducted for 489,601 students. From the total participants who passed the selection 25,398 students are registered as Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-Kuliah) holder from a total of 95,346 KIP-Kuliah holders who registered on SNMPTN selection. “The UNS SNMPTN participants in 2020 is ranked 7th on the most participants at the national level,” Prof. Jamal concluded.
