UNS— Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta Hospital is appointed as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Testing Laboratory for Central Java area. This is in line with the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Decree Number: HK.01.07/MENKES/216/2020 concerning the Appointment of COVID-19 Testing Laboratory. Starting Monday (13/4/2020), the COVID-19 Testing Laboratory in UNS Hospital started operating.
In the release sent to uns.ac.id, Monday (13/4/2020), the Spokesman for the COVID-19 UNS Hospital Taskforce, dr. Tonang Dwi Ardyanto, Sp.PK., Ph.D. stated that UNS Hospital will full support from UNS has been appointed as the COVID-19 Testing Laboratory.
“Upon receiving this trust, UNS Hospital targeted that the laboratory operational preparation can be completed this Sunday and (it can) operate as soon as possible,” dr. Tonang conveyed.
dr. Tonang added that Human Resource preparation is almost complete. Besides the implementation team who has an internship at the Center for Environmental Health Engineering and Disease Control Yogyakarta, UNS Hospital also recruited 10 new doctors to join the training of swab test under the guidance from UNS Hospital ORL-H&N specialists, 9 health analyst, and researchers from the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS so that UNS Hospital Laboratory capacity will be sufficient, at least for Surakarta Residency.
“Preceded by intensive preparation that consists of personnel apprenticeship and recruitment, adjustment of laboratory infrastructures, and procurement of the COVID-19 testing equipment, which lasted for a month. Today, (Monday,13/4/2020) UNS Hospital COVID-19 Testing Laboratory has begun to receive samples of patients with surveillance (Pasien Dengan Pengawasan – PDP) and people with supervision (Orang Dengan Pengawasan – ODP), both those who are in the care of UNS Hospital, as well as from the Health Office (Dinas Kesehatan – Dinkes) in Solo Raya,” explained dr. Tonang, Monday (13/4/2020).
dr. Tonang added that UNS Hospital COVID-19 Testing Laboratory will serve 24 hours and in the meantime only serve COVID-19 testing referral from Health Facilities and Health Office. Humas UNS/Dwi
