UNS – The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta establish a collaboration with Universitas Andalas Padang. The collaboration was marked with the signatory of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions. In the online signatory, UNS is represented by Prof. Jamal Wiwoho as the Rector of UNS witnessed by the Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, while Universitas Andalas is represented by the Rector of Universitas Andalas, Prof. Yuliandri, on Thursday (11/6/2020).
On this occasion, Prof. Jamal states that the collaboration between UNS and Universitas Andalas includes the implementation of Higher Education Tri Dharma. “The signatory of the Memorandum of Understanding aims to synergize the potential and resources of the two universities in order to develop a collaborative implementation of the Higher Education Tri Dharma, which covers education, research, and community service. Moreover, it can become a means to improve and develop Human Resource (HR),” explain Prof. Jamal.
Prof. Jamal suggests to collaboratively actualize an advanced and modern college, which become one of the big agendas of the Minister of Education and Culture, known as ‘Merdeka Belajar’ and ‘Kampus Merdeka’ program.
“And I advised that this memorandum of understanding should not stop after me and Prof. Yuliandri signed it. There must be implemented in the future and is carried out in accordance with the concept of ‘Merdeka Belajar’ and ‘Kampus Merdeka’,” Prof. Jamal adds.
Prof. Jamal hopes that this collaboration will lead to research collaboration between UNS and Universitas Andalas, co-author in international indexed journals, exchange lecturers, and students.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Universitas Andalas, Prof. Yuliadri, welcomes the collaboration. Prof. Yuliandri hopes that this collaboration can have a good impact on both universities. “We hope that this collaboration can be a means for Universitas Andalas to collaborate with UNS,” Prof. Yuliandri confesses.
