FKIP UNS Students Achieve an Accomplishment at LKTIN Himamia Unima

UNS – Another achievement is accomplished by students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in a National Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIN) organized by Student Association in Chemist Study Program (Himamia) Universitas Negeri Manado (Unima), Saturday (27/6/2020).

Bondan Ajidewantara and Atina Rahmawati, from the Physics Education Study Program FKIP UNS, designed a Physics learning media entitled Augmented Reality 3D Pocket Book (AR3POB). Their works have successfully brought them as the 2nd runner-up champion. The AR3POB contains Material on Solar System for Middle School students with a final product of a pocketbook entitled ‘AR3POB’ and an Android application namely ‘Astro Go’. The idea on this project itself has been initiated since last year, but as for the solar system, the material has just realized since last February.

“This product is still a prototype and has not been tested directly to students, we only test it to find the weakness of the application,” explains Bondan to the uns.ac.id team on Monday (30/6/2020).

Under the supervision of Fairusy Fitria Haryani, S.Pd., M.Si., a lecturer from the Physics Education Study Program, they made it to the final round to become the winner. Initially, the presentation was scheduled to be held in Unima, however, due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, the presentation was made through an online system. Bondan and Atina presented their product at UNS Campus last Friday (26/6/2020) while implementing health protocols.

Bondan reveals that they want to test the feasibility of augmented reality media that has been made for learning media. “Actually, we want to test the feasibility of augmented reality media we made. Implementation of augmented reality in learning media is considered a new thing, thus, by following this competition we hope that we can get some inputs from experts who serve as juries for the improvement of this media. Other than that, we also want to introduce the implementation of augmented reality to the education world in Indonesia. We also want to accomplish some achievements before we step into a further semester, even though the results are not yet optimal,” Bondan says. Humas UNS/Zalfaa/Dwi
