UNS – Together with the D’youthizen Detik.com, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a Campus Check! on Tuesday (7/7/2020). UNS becomes the first university that earns the opportunity to collaborate together with detik.com. This event is broadcasted directly through live streaming in the detik.com Instagram account.
On this occasion, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, the Rector of UNS, answers the questions related to the information on the UNS campus. Starting from the short story of the establishment of UNS on 11 March 1976 by the late President Soeharto to the uniqueness of UNS.
“In line with our tagline as ‘Kampus Benteng Pancasila’, UNS is the only university in Indonesia that has complete worship facilities for all religions in Indonesia. We have Mosque, Catholic Church, Christian Church, Pura (Balinese Hindu temple), Vihara (monastery for Buddhist renunciates), and Klentheng (a place of worship of traditional Chinese believers in Indonesia), which located next to each other,” explains Prof. Jamal.
The Deputy of Public Relations UNS, Dr. Deddy Whinata Kardiyanto, also present during the event to explains the material on the faculties in UNS, the Vocational School (SV), as well as postgraduate programs in UNS. Detailed information is available for access to the UNS New Students Admission Office (SPMB). Moreover, UNS is collaborated with the government and other private institutions to provide scholarships for its student. Several scholarships available in UNS is BidikMisi scholarship, ‘Beasiswa Afirmasi’, Bank Indonesia scholarship, and many others.
Not only inviting the UNS leaders, but this event also invites UNS Outstanding Student 2020, Imam Arifin. The student of the Soil Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture (FP) invites the viewers to join a virtual tour around UNS, visiting various facilities and iconic places in UNS.
Imam adds that UNS has approximately 37 student activity units (UKM) for various activities such as sport, art, social, leadership, and others. One of the UKM that recently reach an accomplishment is the Student’s Choir (PSM) Voca Erudita that held an online concert in the midst of pandemic entitled ‘Anvaya, Gratitude and Hope’, through PSM Voca Erudita Youtube Channel.
