UNS – The student of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta initiated data collection of visitors from out of town. This activity is initiated by Arina Zaida Ilma, sixth-semester student of Physics Education Program who joined UNS Covid-19 Handling KKN program. She implemented the program in collaboration with the local community in Danasri Lor Village RT 1 RW 5, Nusawungu Sub-district, Cilacap, Central Java.
The visitor data collection included health status and the purpose of the visit. The data collection is conducted for 24 hours in Danasri Lor Village Hall as the Post of Covid-19 Handling Volunteer. The activity includes visitor’s identity data collection, body temperature check, and spraying disinfectants while complying with health protocols namely physical distancing, hand washing, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
“The activities were performed every day in three shifts, 07.00-15.00, 15.00-23.00 and 23.00-07.00. Morning shift is usually for the female volunteer, while evening and night shifts are for the male volunteer,” she explained to uns.ac.id, Friday (17/7/2020).
In addition to data collection, Arina also conducted visitor observation and activities control through WhatsApp at the lowest government level together with the Task Force members. She gets the idea of this program from the numbers of people who work in different regions. She also collected data on the needs and problems faced by the community affected by Covid-19 and conducted training on how to produce facemask through WhatsApp and YouTube. She hopes that the community will be more aware of Covid-19, considering the high number of infected people. Humas UNS
