UNS — The Public Relation (PR) office of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta visited the office of several media in Solo, Thursday (6/8/2020). In the visitation, UNS team was led by the deputy of Public Relation UNS, Dr. Deddy Whinata Kardiyanto. Dr. Deddy stated that the visit served as a means of maintaining contact and building relations.
“All this time, UNS is always supported by fellow journalists from various media in Solo or outside of Solo. Media has an important role in assisting UNS to deliver information to the public both from UNS activities and student’s achievements not only at the local but also at the national level,” Deddy explained.
The offices in Solo visited by the UNS team were Solopos, Radar Solo and Suara Merdeka. “In the future, the visit to media offices in Solo will be performed in turn,” Dr. Deddy added. The Chief of Media and Information of UNS PR, Dyah Yuni Kurniawati, M.Sn stated that this visit also served as a moment of learning for her team to be better. Dyah conveyed that many fields hold a possibility for a partnership between the institutions, for example, to provide a room for Higher Education Tri Dharma such as research and community services.
This is corroborated by Susi Ashari, Marketing Manager of Solopos, who stated that contents from UNS academic members are highly awaited by readers, especially in Solo. Information needs to be disseminated through various media platforms. The current development requires people in information and communication fields to be adaptive with the existing condition. Adjustment is necessary to survive an extraordinary time. Media also waited for student’s activities in addition to faculty member’s writings. HUMAS UNS
