UNS Signed Collaboration with Unnes and Unsoed

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) and Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) Purwokerto, virtually, Tuesday (1/9/2020). The signing was conducted directly by the Rector of each university, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, the Rector of Unnes, Prof. Fathur Rokhman and the Rector of Unsoed, Prof. Suwarto.

In his remark, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho stated that to implement Merdeka Belajar and Kampus Merdeka policies from the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), universities need to develop a collaboration with other universities. “It is not limited to universities in Indonesia, universities also need to develop a partnership with the industry and business world, State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), and foreign universities. We cannot stand alone without a partnership with other universities,” Prof. Jamal explained.

Prof. Jamal hopes that this partnership will bring forward various activities between UNS, Unnes and Unsoed, in term of joint research, joint publication, student exchange, and staff exchange to work together in advancing the universities. The Rector of Unnes, Prof. Fathur Rokhman conveyed his gratitude to UNS and Unsoed for the collaboration. “Unnes, UNS and Unsoed are three universities in Central Java. By implementing the collaboration in the Development of Higher Education Tri Dharma and improving Human Resources competence, this collaboration will have a positive impact for strengthening each university and contributes to Central Java and Indonesia,” Prof. Fathur stated.

Prof. Fathur added that through this collaboration he hopes that the three universities can plan online-based learning materials. The Rector of Unsoed, Prof. Suwarto stated that before this collaboration materialized, Unsoed often invited UNS Faculty Members as speakers in seminars managed by Unsoed. Humas UNS
