UNS — Special guest attended the Wedangan Ikatan Keluarga Alumni (IKA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Wednesday (9/9/2020). The Governor of Central Java Province (Jateng), Ganjar Pranowo joined the routine agenda held by IKA UNS. The online agenda was held through Zoom Clouds Meeting and live streaming in Universitas Sebelas Maret YouTube channel, the agenda attracted 207 participants in the discussion on Community Empowerment in Facing the New Normal.
With Endang Ujiati, S.H., the Secretary of IKA UNS Jateng (FH 1985) and Drs. Pudjo Rahayu R, M.Si., IKA UNS Advisor Jateng (FISIP 1977) as the moderators, Wedangan IKA UNS Special Edition run interactively. Attending the routine agenda was the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, the Chairman of IKA UNS, Ir. Budi Harto, M.M, and the Chief of IKA UNS Jateng Drs. Sudaryanto, M.Si (FISIP 1979).
Ganjar Pranowo who attended the Wedangan IKA UNS shared new campaign “Jogo Kerjo” after previously focused on “Jogo Tonggo” agenda. “Jogo Kerjo” is a concept promoted to maintain the productivity of the workplace and the discipline in applying the health protocols amid the pandemic.
“We cannot stop, we can’t just contemplate and then just lie down (relaxing), no. We must come up with all innovations and creations to solve all problems,” Ganjar added.
Ganjar added that empowerment becomes one of the important concepts to be developed. Moreover, the role of experts in providing new ideas to provide a solution. Collaboration from various fields is expected to contribute to solving the current crisis.
The economic problem was also discussed by the number first person in Jateng. The agriculture sector experienced a drop in price recently, which is responded by the provincial government by assisting farmers, for example by buying vegetables directly from farmers using normal price. Ganjar added that the role played by UNS alumni in developing farmer-owned business in Wonogiri is a good step that needs to be continued.
Further, the condition of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Central Java was described by Ema Rachmawati as the Head of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Office Central Java. Various efforts to develop MSMEs in Central Java were performed, among others by providing assistance and training for MSMEs owner, develop collaboration with various partners and utilize the technology.
The discussion on the education sector is provided by the Acting Chief of Central Java Education and Culture Office, Padmaningrum. Currently, several schools in Central Java is opened as a trial to conduct offline learning by implementing health protocols.
