UNS Limits Activities in Campus

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta limits the activities in the campus for seven days starting from 21 to 27 October 2020. This decision was taken after the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, signed the Letter of Notification No. 4373/UN27/TU/2020 concerning the Suspension of All Activities in Universitas Sebelas Maret, Tuesday (20/10/2020).

The decision that refers to the Circular of Rector UNS Number 67/UN27/SE/2020 dated 1 October 2020 regarding the Restriction of Activities and Employee Work System in UNS, was taken after an observation on Sars-Cov-2 transmission in Surakarta, including in UNS.

The Letter of Notification was directed to the Vice-Rectors, Head of Senate, Senior Advisor to Rector, Dean of Faculties, Director, Chief of Institute, Chief of Bureau, all Chief of Technical Units, and Head/Chief of Units in UNS. The suspension is for academic activities, the use of public facilities, such as sports facilities, place of worship, and other public facilities. “With this letter, we require all teaching staffs and academic staffs to work from home,” Prof. Jamal stated in his official statement.

The suspension of activities and the use of public facilities will be reviewed by UNS after observing the current situation and condition regarding the transmission of Sars-Cov-2 in Surakarta, including UNS. Prof. Jamal firmly asked units to ensure that administrative activities to keep going by implementing the flexibility of personnel and working hours. Besides that, the research, practice, and other academic activities that have been scheduled can be implemented by applying a strict health protocol or rescheduled.

Prof. Jamal asked healthcare officers in the Medical Center and UNS Hospital to continue working with further regulation from the Director of UNS Hospital. “I asked the Director of UNS Hospital to regulate the activities in the healthcare unit and UNS Hospital to continue providing good and maximum services,” he concluded.
