UNS — The students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta obtained achievement in National Scientific Writing Competition (Lomba Karya Tulis Ilmiah Nasional – LKTIN) INSTINCT 4 held by Universitas Riau. UNS Team won third place in the competition. Under the supervision from Tya Resta Fitriana, M.Pd., UNS team submitted research titled AYO MANCAL: Innovation for Agricultural Tourism Management Based on Wellness Tourism to Improve the Economic Standing of Yogyakarta Coastal Residents Post Covid-19.
UNS Team named Ayo Mancal consists of three student members, Eryneta Nurul Hasanah a student from Local Literature (Javanese Language and Literature) Program 2017, Sony Baroo Amirulloh from Fine Art Education Program 2018 and Nahdliyati Khoiriyah from Management Program 2017. Their writing was a concept for coastal tourism management. They participated in the competition to stay productive amid the pandemic.
“We want to stay productive amid the pandemic and in our final semesters because if I only join online class, I feel confused because I only have one course in a week. When I opened Instagram, I saw my friend post using INSTINCT competition twibbon, then I found information about the competition,” Eryneta explained as the team leader.
The competition was held online from Thursday to Saturday (22 – 24/10/2020). Initially, the 3rd place was won by the team from Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes). However, after further analysis, during score computation, the committee made mistake in the final score computation. The result of recount brought UNS team to win the 3rd place and replace Unnes from the chart.
Representing her friends, Eryneta hopes that they can stay productive in the pandemic and for her, as final year student, she reminded her fellow students to keep young spirit even when their semester nearing completion. “For myself, I have a target to join at least one competition every month,” she stated.
