This agenda was held by the Center for National Achievement (Pusat Prestasi Nasional), The Secretariat General of Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) Republic of Indonesia (RI) as a mean to improve student’s practical quality and ability in the field of arts; either in musical arts, performance arts, literature, and fine arts.

The Vice-Rector for Students and Alumni Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo shared the preparation performed by UNS to participate in the event. One of which is providing mentoring for students who will participate in the competition. According to Prof. Kuncoro, there are two types of mentoring provided, offline mentoring for those who live in Solo and online mentoring for students who live far from Solo. In a Technical Meeting (TM) with UNS Pesiminas Team conducted in October, Prof. Kuncoro conveyed that he hopes there will be an increase in one category of competition that will be beneficial in the near future.

One of the challenges faced by this team is the formation change from 10 dancers to 3 dancers and lastly to 1 dancer. Yodas was selected as a solo dancer in this competition because the trainer wants to display male dancer dancing contemporary dance with Javanese traditional touch titled “Aku, Ruang dan Waktu” (I, Space, and Time).

“Hopefully, this year UNS can present the best in all categories, either in dancing and other categories. And I ask for prayers from my fellow students so that I can win,” Yodas stated, Monday (9/11/2020).
