UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, pray for Bhayangkara Solo FC to be the 1st champion Liga 1 for the 2021 season. Prof. Jamal expressed this prayer after signing the collaboration agreement memorandum between UNS and Bhayangkara Solo FC in UNS Stadium, Thursday (26/11/2020).
Prof. Jamal states that the club’s base camp relocation to Solo will bring lots of luck due to its citizens’ love of football. Moreover, Solo is a historical city for its successful club ‘Arseto’, which was once triumphant during the Galatama era. “I hope, with its home base relocation to Solo, (the club) can be the champion in Liga 1 2021. The prayer of Solo citizens is effective and auspicious. Moreover, we really missed Liga 1 football games,” Prof. Jamal reveals.
During the signatory, Prof. Jamal was accompanied by the UNS Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Vice-Rector for Finance and Management Affairs, Dr. Bandi, Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, the Dean of the Faculty of Sport (FKor) UNS, Dr. Sapta Kunta, and the Head of PR Deputy UNS, Dr. Deddy Whinata Kardiyanto. Meanwhile, the Bhayangkara Solo FC is represented by Brigjen Pol. Istiono (CEO of Bhayangkara Solo FC), Sumardji (Manager of Bhayangkara Solo FC), and the club’s coach, Paul Munster. The signatory was also attended by 6 (six) best players in the football club, namely Sani Rizki, Indra Kahfi, Nurhidayat, Ruben Sanadi, Serdy Ephy Fano, and Lee Yu Jun.
On this occasion, Bhayangkara FC was accompanied by the Surakarta City Police Chief (Kapolresta) Kombes Pol. Ade Safri Simanjuntak, who directly reviews the quality of grass and the running track in the UNS Stadium. According to him, UNS Stadium facilities are favorable, stating that, “UNS Stadium is our choice and is representative for the national level, and we will enhance its grass quality. Moreover, it has a lodging facility. Thus it is great for daily exercise and base-camp also. Even more, we earn great support from the Rector of UNS,” Brigjen Pol. Istiono explains.
Brigjen Pol. Istiono reveals that UNS Stadium is chosen due to the location of Solo; this location will facilitate the club when they have to travel either to East Java or Jakarta. This option will be beneficial in reducing the Covid-19 spread during Liga 1. Based on the arrangement, during their 1 (one) year in Solo, the Bhayangkara Solo FC officers and players will stay at Griya KPRI UNS, which is located nearby the stadium. Humas UNS
