UNS — The student of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta initiates a place to learn together and doing a social activity. Dhiya Restu Putra a student of the Local Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) was motivated to realize this idea by establishing ‘Dalem Pasinaon’ (Learning House) along with his colleagues in August 2019 located in Tunggur, Slogohimo, Wonogiri.
There are quite a few varieties of activities in Dalem Pasinaon. Last year, the first event was introducing the children at elementary school to literacy such as reading storybooks, storytelling, drawing, coloring, singing the national anthem, and folk songs. Dalem Pasinaon also invites the parents in parenting socialization presented by related Office in the Sub-District. Other than that, there is ‘Sinau Bareng Dalem Pasinaon’ (Study Together with Dalem Pasinaon) Program, which facilitates the children to learn the subjects in school.
“Since September until now, for once a week on Sunday we held an activity entitled ‘Sinau Bareng Dalem Pasinaon’. This activity assists the children to study more about the subjects they have at school. We also introduce them regarding the importance of protecting the environment is by re-using waste materials,” explains Restu, Friday (11/12/2020).
Dalem Pasinaon also refreshes the recollection on traditional games such as dakon, bekelan, lompatan, sudah manda, and many others. For the coordinational purpose, Dalem Pasinaon provides a WhatsApp group with the parents. Hosting the event, Restu was assisted by his friends in handling 25 children and their parents. The target of this program is children from Juron Village, Tunggur, Slogohimo, Wonogiri, who currently is in pre-school, kindergarten, and elementary school. Right now, most of the participants in Dalem Pasinaon are at pre-school and kindergarten. During the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the activities in Dalem Pasinaon remains ongoing but by adhering to the health protocol.
In the future, Restu hopes that the program can be more consistent in providing useful activities. “Hopefully, we can deliver useful activities consistently, thus the children can feel its sustainable usefulness. Especially during this pandemic condition, we want to be part of their study. Smile, enthusiasm, and spirit, is our happiness. We learn that teaching is not easy. Our respect to all teachers where ever they are,” Restu concluded. Humas UNS
