UNS — Another achievement was made by students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, by winning first place in the 2020 Graphytation National Video Competition. The students included in the competition organized by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) are Muhammad Arif Ilham Fadillah (Special Education Study Program-PKh, 2018), Muhammad Nisman Faqih (English Language and Literature Study Program, 2018), Muhammad Asyam Bagus (Structural Engineering Education Study Program-PTB, 2018), and Khalifah Imam Ali (Informatics Study Program, 2019). The team was known as UNS ‘Kos Kita’ Team.
The competing video with 4 minutes and 27 seconds duration, created by the team entitled ‘Bergerak’, depicts the daily live condition during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The video also includes various useful activities to do during the new norm.
“This video is about our daily life during the pandemic and how we can do useful activities for ourselves during the pandemic condition and the new norm,” Arif reveals on Sunday (27/12/2020).
On Wednesday (16/12/2020), the video from the ‘Kos Kita’ Team is declared as the first winner. Arif admits that he and his teammate wanted to maximize their time through positive activities. “We want to use our time optimally through positive activities, and channeling our interest and talent,” Arif explains.
Even though they had succeeded in securing the first position, it does not mean that their team did not face any challenges during the three days of video creation. Strangely enough, the video was taken at midnight. “We did the filming three days before the submission deadline and it was at the midnight, around midnight -02.00 AM on the Slamet Riyadi Road Solo. While the editing took place on the D-1 of the deadline,” Arif said reminiscing the preparation.
In the future, representing his team, Arif hopes that they can be channeling their talents and interests through positive things. “Hopefully we can use our talent and interest in positive things, and delivering the best achievement to UNS in the upcoming competitions,” Arif concluded. Humas UNS
