UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students achieved another proud accomplishment. The proud victory was achieved in National Creative Video Contest (NCVC) held by English Department Student Association (EDSA) Universitas Islam Darul ‘Ulum (Unisda) Lamongan.
The excellent students who brought home this proud award are Jimmy Bramastya from Agribusiness Program Faculty of Agriculture (FP) UNS and Rezarivano Mukhairisubarkah from English Language and Literature, the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) UNS.
In an announcement released on Sunday (24/1/2021) through @edsaunisda Instagram account, Rezarivano Mukhairisubarkah and Jimmy Bramastya brought a proud UNS name by winning the first position. They won over their competitors from other universities such as Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Padang Panjang, and Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), which won second and third positions, respectively. Both students stated that they were grateful for the achievement in the competition that hones their creativity. “We are catching up with our fellows who have won many competitions,” Rezarivano Mukhairisubarkah stated on Wednesday (27/1/2021).
Rezarivano and Jimmy submitted a seven-minute video titled “Segera Pulih” (Recovered Soon) to the creative video contest that raises the theme of “Me and Indonesia In New Normal Era”. Their video was taken in several places in Surakarta, including Pasar Gede, Batik Solo Trans, coffee shops, and mountains. They inserted a message for their viewers to stay spirited even though the Covid-19 pandemic has not shown any signs of ending. Their video also invited all community members to be disciplined and strictly follow the health protocol in the new normal era. This health protocol includes washing hands, wearing masks, and physical distancing.
During the video production, the challenges that they experienced are preparing the tools, such as camera and drones, and well-prepared concept to support the shooting process. They also experienced another kind of challenge with their family member tested positive for Covid-19, which forced them to postpone their shooting schedule.
Rezarivano Mukhairisubarkah hopes that this achievement becomes an opening for many other achievements in future competitions. He also hopes that his achievement will inspire other UNS students to be competitive. “I hope that this is a beginning for everything. And I want to work on my videography hobby,” Rezarivano stated.
