TNI Commander Official Statement in MWA UNS Open Discussion

UNS — The Chairman of Board of Trustee (MWA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, TNI Commander Marshall Hadi Tjahjanto, delivered an official statement as a response to student’s suggestions in the MWA UNS Open Discussion, Wednesday (27/1/2021) through Zoom Cloud Meeting. The student suggested five points included in the MWA UNS Charter delivered by the student member of MWA, Muhammad Zainal Arifin.

In the official statement recited by the Vice Chairman of MWA UNS, Prof. Hasan Fauzi, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto welcomed MWA UNS Charter suggested by the student. He stated that the five points suggested by students are a positive contribution to the development of the campus and will serve as discussion materials. “This forum is an appropriate means to discuss the suggestion in-depth, for the development of UNS that we love and proud of,” Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto stated.

Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto added that the open discussion initiated by a student member of MWA UNS could become a forum for exchanging thoughts and shared knowledge with all academic members. According to the MWA UNS Chairman, the exchange is vital because open discussion can be directed to build synergy among all organs and elements to achieve UNS as World Class University (WCU).

“Hopefully, this discussion becomes a part of setting a strong foundation for the UNS transformation process,” he added.

On this occasion, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto also invited UNS Academic Members to participate actively in UNS status as Public University with Legal Entity (PTN BH) granted on 6 October 2020. With this new autonomous status, the MWA Chairman stated that all elements, including student, faculty members, academic staff, and university executive leaders, have the opportunity to collaborate for advancing the campus.

“According to PP No. 56 of 2020, UNS become 12th Public University granted PTN BH status. This status grants UNS full autonomy over the management of the financial and human resources, including Faculty Members and academic staff,” he concluded. Humas UNS
