UNS — Indonesian National Army (TNI) Commander, Marshall TNI Dr. (H.C.) Hadi Tjahjanto S.I.P. emphasized the importance of innovation for Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students and graduates. This message was delivered in the Open Academic Senate Session to commemorate UNS 45th Anniversary on Friday (12/3/2021).
“Hopefully, UNS Anniversary Celebration theme this year will inspire us to innovate and think creatively in implementing the Higher Education Tri Dharma in UNS. Semangat 45 (red: the spirit of independence 1945) must be implemented in real life, the quality of University with Legal Entity (PTNBH) UNS should be realized,” the TNI commander stated in his remark.
Marshall TNI Hadi Tjahjanto, also the Chairman of UNS Board of Trustee (MWA), reminded that UNS should continually improve its education, learning, research, and community service capacity.
“In its implementation, these activities need innovation in facing various disruptions and challenges and innovation and creativity in utilizing the rapid development in science and technology. Don’t forget to build strong characters as the basic capital in building excellent Human Resources for Indonesia’s development. Knowledge is power, but the character is more,” he reminded the participants.
The UNS MWA Chairman added that UNS activities would increase UNS contribution to the community, the nation, and the country. The nation is waiting for future generations’ roles with their noble characters, competencies, innovation, and ability to collaborate with all nation components.
“UNS alumni should become the motor, driver of development and maintain the unity of the nation. Thus, the vision to shape UNS into a World Class University can be achieved gradually through a good synergy among UNS academic members,” he concluded. Humas UNS
