UNS — Alumni Association (IKA) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in Jambi Province held a Social Service in Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) Daarul Khuffazz Al Islami (Daarul Khuffazz Al Islami Islamic Boarding School), Jambi, Friday (12/3/2021).
The event was held to commemorate UNS 45th anniversary on 11 March 2021 and as UNS alumni’s contribution to the Jambi community. The visit to Ponpes Daarul Khuffazz Al Islami was led by the Chairman of IKA UNS Jambi, Drs. H. Navarin Karim, M.Si, accompanied by IKA UNS Jambi Secretary, Muhaimin.
“IKA UNS Jambi has a great hope to provide more for Jambi people. However, various limitations, including the pandemic situation, make us limit the number of our personnel,” Drs. H. Navarin Karim, M.Si said during the delivery of assistance.
The Chairman of IKA UNS Jambi also introduced IKA UNS Jambi members to the school managers and students. Currently, Jambi Chapter has 76 members, and he hopes that the chapter will become a means to maintain the friendship, strengthen alumni synergy, and media to share information. Besides the Chairman and Secretary of IKA UNS Jambi, the event was attended by one of the IKA UNS Jambi elders, Deny Fairuziddin.
“After collecting the funds, the committee purchased basic needs and then distribute them to the community and school managers,” he explained.
Responding to the assistance, the Headmaster of Daarul Khuffazz Al Islami, Herman Al Hafidz, appreciates IKA UNS Jambi’s concerns. He stated that the events held by IKA UNS Jambi would contribute to the development in various fields for IKA UNS and the community.
“This social event greatly helps us, and we are delighted. Hopefully, the provided assistance will benefit all students and become amal jariyah and received results from Allah SWT,” Herman Al Hafidz stated. Humas UNS
