UNS — Institute of Educational Quality Assurance and Development Universitas Sebelas Maret (LPPMP UNS) held another National Webinar on “Building and Developing Pancasila Vanguard Campus” through Zoom Video Conferencing on Monday (15/3/2021). Chief of LPPMP UNS Prof. Dr. Sarwiji Suwandi, M.Pd and the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum attended the event as the keynote speaker. With five speakers, the webinar is expected to bring new ideas to develop Pancasila values in UNS campus life. The five invited speakers are Dr. Drs. Karjono, S.H., M.Hum, Dr. Hassan Suryono, S.H,M.H.M.Pd, Dr. Isharyanto, S.H., M.Hum, and Dr. Winarno S.Pd., M.Si serta Dr. Triyanto, S.H., M.Hum.
The restlessness caused by radicalism and terrorism to Indonesia, Dr. Karjono, as the Chief Secretary of BPIP, shared the BNPT survey results that 85% of millennials are susceptible to radicalism. This condition is caused by the absence of social order, law order, and good intention in using social media and millennials. Therefore, the campus is a means to teach Pancasila ideology according to its commitment to shaping the nation’s characters.
Since 1 October 2019, UNS has proclaimed its campus as Pancasila Vanguard and will protect its practice from radicalism. Pancasila Vanguard is a campus that implements and preserves Pancasila values. To prove its commitment, UNS build six places of worship (Mosque, a Christian church, Catholic church, vihara, temple, and Confucian temple) to accommodate the religions in Indonesia. Pancasila values are also implemented in the UNS learning process.
“Pancasila Vanguard Campus standard of competence is the minimal criteria of UNS academic members in realizing religious, humane, united, democratic, and just learning and administrative activities,” Prof. Jamal explained.
Dr. Hassan Suryono, the Coordinator of Pancasila P3MKU LPPMP UNS, explained the standard and indicator for Pancasila Vanguard Campus. Achieving this standard and indicator is the responsibility of related parties, the Rector and Vice-Rectors, Chief of LPPMP, Deans, and Pancasila Vanguard Campus standard drafting team.
Development of facilities and infrastructures, supported by the development of Pancasila values in administrative and learning activities, are expected to create harmony, tolerance, and respect toward diversities in campus life. Implementation of the Pancasila Vanguard program cannot be achieved without an effective learning environment. Dr. Triyanto, as the Head of Master Program in PPKn UNS, supports this environment with his material in the Strategy for Developing Pancasila Vanguard Campus. Humas UNS
