UNS Rector Reviews the Implementation of UTBK 2021

UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, directly reviews the implementation of the Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK) in UNS on Monday (12/4/2021). Alongside the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, and the Head of New Student Admission and Selection Unit (SPMB) UNS, Prof. Hadiwiyono, the Rector of UNS, visited the UTBK test site in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA) Building, UPT TIK, and the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS.

Prof. Jamal states that nationally, the applicants of UTBK-SBMPTN 2021 are increasing to 775,810 compared to the previous year UTBK with only 662,404 applicants. UNS has become one of the 74 State University UTBK Centers in Indonesia. The UTBK took place in 14 different locations, inside the UNS campus, with 43 rooms, which accommodate 830 test-takers per session, totaling 1,660 participants per day (two sessions per day). In total, 27 UTBK sessions will be conducted in UNS, consisting of 13 sessions for the first phase and 14 sessions for the second phase. Those sessions will be attended by 22,385 applicants, where the 10,765 applicants will take the test in the first phase, and 11,620 applicants are taking the test in the second phase. The test rooms are located in FK UNS (2 rooms), UPT TIK (3 rooms), FMIPA (8 rooms), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) (5 rooms), FSRD (3 rooms), FIB (1 room), FISIP (2 rooms), FH (1 room), FKIP-1 (3 rooms), FKIP-2 (2 rooms), FT (6 rooms), SV (3 rooms), UPT-P2B (3 rooms), and FP (1 room).

The UTBK UNS will be conducted on 12-18 April (First Phase), and the Second Phase will be commenced on 26 April, 30 April, and 1-2 Mei. “The first session of the first day UTBK went smoothly. There are 785 (94.58%) test takers attending the first session today. With 45 applicants are not attending (5.42%),” Prof. Jamal explains during a press release in UNS Inn, Monday (12/4/2021).

In this 2021 UTBK, there are 6 participants with special needs. Five of them will take the UTBK on the 7th Session (Thursday,15/04/2021 at 06:45-10:30 am) in TIK-Computer Lab. 1. Meanwhile, the last participant with special needs will take the test on the 27th session (Sunday, 02/05/2021) at 06:45 – 10:30 am) in TIK-Computer Lab. 1. The applicants with special needs will be equipped with special software and a supervisor.

The UNS UTBK Center has conducted various training to ensure that the 2021 UTBK can be implemented safely and smoothly. The training is including admin server training, room technician, safety and cleaning staff training, Field Responsible Staff (PJL), Deputy of Field Responsible Staff (WPJL), and invigilator.

The Center also provides health facilities to prevent Covid-19 spread. “All locations are equipped with thermo-gun, hand sanitizer, handbasin, and test-takers transit room, which designed according to the health protocol. The test room is designed specifically to maintain the participants’ distance and ensure that all participants will always wear a mask. This effort is taken to avoid a new Covid-19 cluster,” Prof. Jamal states.

During its implementation, the UNS UTBK Center maintains active coordination with the Surakarta Covid-19 task force, to ensure the implementation of health protocol. Humas UNS
