UNS — Nazhir Waqf Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta granted education funding for five UNS students, handed directly by Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo in dr. Prakosa Building UNS, Friday (23/4/2021). The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus and Dr. Triyanto, dan Arifuddin, Lc., M.A. as the management of Nazhir Waqf UNS.
The students who received the grant were experiencing financial difficulties. They are M. Taufik Budiman Zein, Albertho Umbu, Friska Shalomita, Rima Ayu Aslamiyah, and Nella Khamrous Salwa. Albertho is Tropical Cyclone Seroja that hit Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) victim and could not attend the ceremony.
In his remark, the Chief of Nazhir Waqf UNS, Dr. Triyanto, stated that this grant is a beginning after the institute was inaugurated two months ago. “We also try to collaborate with several firms and conduct investments. This grant is for UNS academic members despite their race and religion,” he explained.
Prof. Kuncoro appreciates Nazhir Waqf UNS considering its young age, which has not reached one year old. The institute already spread its wing and benefits the academic community. “Congratulate to all students who received this grant; hopefully, it will be beneficial for your study. I hope you can achieve more,” he stated.
Friska Shalomita from the Diploma Program (D-3) of Taxation Vocational School UNS thanked Nazhir Waqf for helping her with her education funds. Besides that, Friska also invited UNS academic members to do waqf through Nazhir Waqf UNS. “I hope I can excel in my study in the future,” she hopes. Humas UNS
