UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta Campus Ambassadors distributes free iftar packages and face masks on Friday (23/4/2021) around Nonongan, Pasar Gedhe, Baluwarti, and several streets in Surakarta. In the official release, Titin Dwi Aryanti, UNS Campus Ambassador from Development Economics Program Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNS, stated eight students participated in the event.
“This event is Duta Kampus Care (DUTKAMCARE). So, we distributed 50 packages of iftar and face masks. Every person gets one piece of face mask,” Titin Dwi Aryanti said.
She added that this event aims to share UNS Campus Ambassadors’ gratitude for their achievements and as a form of concern amid Ramadan. They also want to remind people that the pandemic is not over by distributing face masks. The event is their contribution to implementing UNS’ community service programs, and Titin hopes that the event can raise awareness and concern for people in need.
“The distribution is conducted in a team with 2-4 members in three predefined points,” Titin Dwi Aryanti explained.
The target of this event was the homeless, pedicab drivers, scavengers, motorcycle taxi drivers, and road cleaners. Titin Dwi Aryanti reminded UNS Campus Ambassador to impact the Surakarta community through this event positively. She also hopes that the community can feel that UNS is not merely a university that focuses on academic activities but also has the vision to improve people’s welfare. Humas UNS
